About Karyn Marais

Karyn Marais is a body alignment therapist and yoga/movement teacher. She is passionate about exploring balance between effort and ease in movement and life. Her shared work is grounded in what she has both understood and embodied through various manual therapy modalities she has studied. Karyn has explored the practise of yoga for the past 20 years, and teaching for 12 years. The more recent integration of somatic practises and natural movement has sparked deeper interest into the small spaces of the body, integrating ways of unwinding the effects of our modern lifestyle on healthy natural function. Karyn runs her own bodywork practise in Fish Hoek, Cape Town and teaches classes at Sangha Spot in Muizenberg. In her free time you will find her on the mountain trails running minimalist, or with her family in their local park playing and moving, or catching a wave at their local break.
